Please, I'm really in need to understand the meaning of "digital self-engineering".
Found at that paragraph:
""It's no longer television that shapes people's opinion about media; it's Internet. Users have learned to organize themselves, much like a media expert does. People have come to expect digital self-engineering. They expect modality, convenience, participation, emotion, and authenticity in that media content."
Any help of major gratitude,
'Engineering' is putting resources together to make something new and useful. 'Digital self-engineering' is what people do on Second Life or Bebo or Facebook - manipulating words and images and digital techniques (such as drawing an avatar) to present an image of oneself (that may not always correspond with reality).
