    Which is grammatically correct?

    Q.2 What is the volume of the tanks in the fire engine?
    A. The volume of the tank is 2000 litres.

    A. The volume of the tank is 2000 litres. ok

    #2 because it is a general statement. It will be even better if you have "...put out fires"
