    beginning a letter

    do you use a semi-colin or camma when beginnig a letter with dear sir or madam?
    such as
    Dear Sir or Madam; or Dear Sir or madam,

    Use a colon as follows...

    Dear Sir or Madam:

    Or if writing your letter in Europe, use a comma.
