    is this sentence grammaricly correct?

    A pivitol time in my life it was suddenly evident I merit time to stop and smell the roses.

    no... it is a mess...

    Try it this way....

    When I finally took time to stop and smell the roses it was a pivitol time in my life.

    Carl's correction is excellent. If, however, you wish to draw attention to the "pivot" rather than the roses, you could use:

    "As it was a pivotal time in my life, it was suddenly evident to me that I owed myself the time to stop and smell the roses."
