Next Tuesday would be the Tuesday after Sunday. i.e Friday, Saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday.

According to what we were taught it would be a week after, ie, the Tuesday Shal has referred to would be the coming Tuesday and the one after that would be the "next Tuesday."

Though I am not sure if this rule or way of speaking still exists.

Nain, you are right. You can have 'this coming Tuesday' (4th day from today) or 'next Tuesday' (11th day from today).
