    Building sentences

    Do these sentences mean the same? If they do, which one sounds better?

    1. Invented by an Indiana housewife in 1889, the first dishwasher was driven by a steam engine.
    2. The first dishwasher invented by an Indiana housewife was driven by a stem engine.
