    compromise vs undermine

I find it difficult to distinguish the meaning of the words "comrpomise" and "undermine". Can anyone help?

    Re: compromise vs undermine

Generally 'undermine' is used to relate to an action which weakens someone's authority in some way.

In similar contexts compromise is used when someones reputation or integrity suffers, for example, as the result of a scandalous situation becoming public knowledge.
