    1) When we came to the stadium, the match__

    1) When we came to the stadium, the match__
    a) was starting
    b) had started

    I think both a and b will do but my teacher said that only b can. How come?

    2) How can I put into words this idea:
    "She is studying one class ___ mine".( This sentence means, for instance, I'm at grade 11 and she's at grade 12). Can I use "above" to fill in the blank?
