    How come? and What's wrong?

This question comes from a test paper:

--Sorry, I'm afraid I can't go out for the picnic with you tomorrow.
    --_______?
    A. What's wrong B. How are you C. How come D. So what

The given answer is C. But I thought A was fine too. Am I right?

    Thank you in advance.

Re: How come? and What's wrong?

It might not be a negative reason- they could be going to collect a huged cheque or something.

Re: How come? and What's wrong?

Wht's wrong is used in negative sense, but another mean of how come is "Why"

mean person is simply asking the reason for not going on picnic,

so how come is more appropriate, i think
