    Garbage can, rubbish bin. Refers to something that is worthless or no longer of use. A play on words referring to documents that are normally filed in a file cabinet and the round shape of some garbage cans in old office buildings.

    Example: "This letter from George Bush asking for donations can go in the circular file."
