Cool To think hilghly of oneself..

    Hi,

When someone has a very high opinion of himself we say in French:

"Il ne se prend pas pour de la m..." (m***e = sh*t)(=swear word).
The word-by-word translation is: "he doesn't take himself for sh*t".

Do you have a similar term in English?

Re: To think hilghly of oneself..

    Hi,

There are a number of fairly polite expressions that could be used:

He is full of his own importance.

He is too big for his boots.

He is a legend in his own mind.

There is an extremely impolite expression that I couldn't repeat here, but it concerns the same substance you mention and its aroma!! Je suis sūr que vous pouvez le deviner
