    go off the deep end

I canīt feel and understand how to use the expression. Maybe because there are two or more meanings. I think it means something like BE ANGRY, LOSE CONTROL, RAISE HELL... Is that so?

Could I say: "MOM WENT OFF THE DEEP END WHEN SHE REALIZED I HADNīT CLEANED MY ROOM" ?
