    launch them and leave them

Please explain what the following phrase in bold means.

Choose only a few initiatives and support them over time. Establishing a strong, new brand is a multiyear undertaking. Too often we approached it with an investment plan covering only 12 months. Consciously or not, "launch them and leave them" can become the modus operandi.

    Thank you.

This seems to be discussing the launch/initiation of new products by companies. The writer is saying that there is more to getting a new product accepted by the public than just launching it, sending it out into the marketplace and leaving it to let it be accepted or rejected. It requires support, programs that will make it something people identify with and these plans must be followed over a long period of time.

Have I explained it well enough for you to understand, Unpakwon?

    Yes. It's been helpful enough.

    Thank you.
