    Smile run errands

    Hi everybody,
    I am not a native English speaker and i would like to ask you what does this statement mean:" He run errands for the household". Can you give me a synonym for it?

    Welcome to the forums.

    He makes short journeys to take messages or to deliver or collect something on behalf of the household.

    Go to perform a commission, as in

    “I spent the morning running household errands--to the cleaners, the supermarket, the hardware store.“

    As a boy I used to run errands for people for pennies, like many more did.
    Next I had to run errands and to do various little jobs like drawing a pint of vinegar from a big store.
    Sometimes you had to get sandwiches for other people's lunch and run errands , deliver clothes.
    He will cook meals, wash floors, run errands , reap and mow crops and tend animals.
    Clean his boots, run errands , lay out his clothes, prepare hot water for him to shave, serve….
