    it doesn't matter

    It doesn't matter where exactly....
I'd like to know if it's grammatically right to rephrase this sentence like:
    Where exactly doesn't matter

I suppose it is wrong to say 'Where exactly doesn't matter'.

    Re: it doesn't matter

You are going to have to give us a context for this.

    I am imagining a conversation:

Where would you like to eat?
    It doesn't matter where exactly....
Yes, it does matter where exactly . . .
    Where exactly doesn't matter . . .
Where doesn't matter to me then. Let's stay home.

Yes, this is just the context I was thinking of. You've answered my question. Thanks to all of you

    Re: it doesn't matter

So if "where" is the important issue in the conversation, then it would be written or emphasized like this:

Where would you like to eat?
    It doesn't matter "where" exactly....
Yes, it does matter "where exactly" . . .
    "Where exactly" doesn't matter . . .
"Where" doesn't matter to me then. Let's stay home.

By the way, this is a familiar conversation between my husband and me - happens all the time
