    British English grammar help!

    I'm not sure whether this is of British grammar or not:
    All courses at the college are offered on a full-time basis unless_______ indicated
    a) otherwise
    b) diffently

    The answer is a but I wonder how it is different from b

    It is a very formal fixed expression/collocation.
