    come around and got to,...

Hi, these my two questions, thanks for your help.

    (Script's from Prison Break 01x04)
Becky - Warden? Sorry. Your wife is here.
Pope - What? She's not supposed to be here till 4:00. Becky, do not let her come in here under any circumstances. She's not supposed to see this until our anniversary. I'll be right out. Hi, sweetheart. You're early. Uh... let's go eat.
    Judy - You're acting funny.
    Pope - I am?
Judy - What's going on in there?
Pope - Um... just going over some files.
Judy - Becky said you were in a meeting. This isn't Toledo all over again, is it?
Pope - Toledo? How can you say that?
Judy - Then, you won't mind if I look.
    Pope - Hey, Judy...
Michael - Warden, I'm not gonna be able to cooperate. I'd get killed if I did. Johnson's still deciding.
Pope - Then, you and I are done.
Judy - You should have just told me.
Pope - Well, you know how anxious I get when you come around the inmates. (1. What does "come around" mean in this sentence?) Becky, have a guard escort Johnson back to his cell. I'll deal with him later. Come on, let's go eat.

Lincoln - What you doing here?
Veronica - I'm your attorney. I'm representing you now.
    L - Hmm.
V - If that's all right with you.
L - Last time I saw you, you called me a liar.
V - Things have changed. I believe you now. I got in touch with Crab Simmons's ex-girlfriend Leticia. She corroborated your story.
    L - Will she testify?
V - She's missing. I don't know. I think the Secret Service got to her. (2. What does " got to" mean in this sentence?)
    L - Secret Service?
V - They've been poking around. Soon as they show up, she disappears. What do you think happened?
L - Um... I didn't realize it was that high up, (3. What does " high up" mean in this sentence?) you know. Do you know what we're up against?
V - I know it's a lot more than either of us can handle on our own.
    L - Project Justice.
V - Why have I heard of them?
L - All they handle is death penalty cases. There's a guy there, Ben Forsik, I sent him copies of everything I had. You can go there, tell him what you found. Maybe we'll get enough to bring him on board.
    V - Okay.
    L - So, uh... how's Sebastian?
V - What do you mean?
L - Well, you being here. I mean... is he cool with it?
    V - I haven't talked to him. The, um... The engagement's off.
    L - Oh. I'm sorry.
V -You could at least say that like you mean it.
    L - I do.
V - God, you always were a lousy liar.
    L - Mmm, yeah.
V - I better get to Project Justice.
L - Veronica? Thank you. I didn't have a whole lot left. (4.What does this sentence mean? Does he mean he's lost a lot people-his friend, family, loved ones, but he thinks he's in happiness right now because at least Vericon's willing to trust and offer help to him.)
V - You can thank me when I get you out of here.

    Have a nice day!

Re: come around and got to,...

'come around' join in with - talk to
'got to' her - found out about (In this case probably 'took her into custody')
'high up' - at that level of government, the Secret Service works for the President.
"I didn't have a whole lot left" - I like your interpretation. That sounds just right.

"Come around," here, means to put in an appearance near, to show up around, or to be in the vicinity of the prisoners.

In this case, “got to her” means that someone has directly, or indirectly, influenced the potential testimony of the witness – most likely by threatening her.

L - Um... I didn't realize it was that high up, (3. What does " high up" mean in this sentence?) you know. Do you know what we're up against?

“High up” here is referring to the hierarchy of officials and departments in the case. For example, a case may start locally, with the police department in a district. If insufficient results can be obtained there, or if there is a security matter of greater importance, perhaps the city, county, or national police will be called in. Above that, you have special investigation divisions, this often include something like a “secret service” or some other upper government division.

Therefore, “high up” is a reference to how far along the bureaucracy chain, or how far “up” the ladder the case has gone.

A similar usage might be when a person wants something done, and the usual methods are not working. Thus, a person goes "higher up" the chain of command to get results.

As for question 4, without the full context it is hard to tell. However, your interpretation does sound reasonable.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,RedMtl,

Thanks for your help, actually your reply is real good job, pretty clear and gives me a whole lot more information in detail, I like it!!! REALLY!!!

As for question 4, okay, here we go. Veronica is Lincoln's old girlfriend , and Lincoln "killed" Vice President's brother, (actually, he was just set up, the killer who killed V.P.'s brother is not him), Veronica, like anybody else, didn't trust him, she thought he did until she found a girl named Leticia, who knew the truth about this whole thing, but the Secret Service agent got to her when she's in Veronica's office, in fact, they killed Leticia after leaving Veronica's office.

So, the scene is about, then, Veronica come around prison to tell Lincoln that she's willing to be his attorney, it means she's trusting him right now, because the information she got from Leticia, and the showing up of this Secret Service agent, who wanna kill anyone that's a threat to this thing.

So, according to this context, I think Lincoln said_"I didn't have a whole lot left" , which means he's lost a lot people, his ex-wife, his son, even this old girlfiend, Veronica, etc., that thought he really did the killing of V.P.'s brother, but he's in happiness right now because in the end, there's a one, Veronica, who's starting to trust him.
So, how about you, could you tell me your opinion?

    Have a nice day!
