    Has or Have

"A written statement that money or goods (has or have?) been received is known as a receipt."

What is proper has or have in this instance?

    Re: Has or Have

    Have is correct.

When there are two or more nouns, the verb refers to the last one. Goods is plural, therefore you use 'have'.
