    Cool to become or becoming

    Given the sentence:

"Through experience, one can find answers topainfull circumstances and not to become crazy"

Through experience, one can find answers topainfull circumstances and not becoming crazy"

    Please, which one is correct?

    Thank You

Through experience, one finds answers to painful experiences, and does not become crazy as a result of them.

    This would be my suggestion.

    Hope this helps.

Thank You very much, but taking into account the way it is said above, please, to become or to becoming? I've read in Grammar that gerund can be used in the sense of infinitive but when referring to activity in sentences like "Eating is necessary to live" and so. My problem is that I'm not quite sure considering "becoming" here as an activity. Would you be so kind as for helping me in solving this -for me- enigma?

    Thanks so much
