    Lightbulb a question about "decrease in"

    i want to translate the sentence "bira tuketimi 200milyon bardak azalmıştır" from turkish into english. but i have some trouble.

    which one is true or is there another way?

    there was a 200-million-glass-decrease in the consumption of the beer

    There has been a decrease in the quantity of beer consumption about 200 millions of glasses.

    Both are grammatically fine [with minor changes]:

    There was a 200-million-glass decrease in the consumption of the beer.
    There has been a decrease in beer consumption
    of
    about 200 million glasses.

    Re: a question about "decrease in"

    There was a 200 million glass decrease in the consumption of the beer.

    ==============

    Might I suggest that the 'the', in bold and underlined, is unneeded/unwarranted.

    There may be more to the sentence - ie ..."the beer bought in restaurants". The context of the original does not make it clear.

    That's true, Anglika. I'm glad that you've made that clear.
