Cool A reluctance to see beyond buckle rings and shell suits

    Please,

Is it an idiom. Could you tell me what does it mean?

"A reluctance to see beyond buckle rings and shell suits"

    Thank You

You can't see beyond the exterior appearance [buckle rings and shell suits are "fashion statements"]. You are judging a person by the way he/she dresses and not by their behaviour.
