I have to pay 30% of the tax or I have to pay 30% of tax (without "the")???

    Are both OK?

    Re: the/tax

What is the full sentence - that determines whether an article is used or not.

Ok, I see that it all depends on the context. Thanks.

    Re: the/tax

Do I have to pay tax on that?

The tax payable on such luxury items limits their demand.

A tax is inequitable if it adversely affects the poor more than the rich.
