    Smile "only with" pattern ?

Could you teach me if the following sentence is correct?
"Only with concerted efforts of schools, parents and social service organizations could we help to nurture our younger generation."

When we using "only with", do we always using "could we" (not "we could") and why???

    Re: "only with" pattern ?

    Hi Chongrace,

The underlined portion acts as the subject, and could acts as its verb:

"Only with concerted efforts of schools, parents and social service organizations could we help to nurture our younger generation."

The pattern is: subject + could

If we omit Only, the pattern changes:

"With concerted efforts of schools, parents and social service organizations we could help to nurture our younger generation."

    The subject now is we.
