    shutting out

    Hello

He is shutting out of the physical world.

Is it a correct sentence, and what does it mean?

    Hi, Guest!

I can't think of an example of 'shutting out of'. Common usage is simply 'shutting out', meaning to avoid. "He is shutting out the physical world."

I'd like to see the context for your sentence because it is virtually impossible for someone to knowingly 'shut out' the physical world.

    Cheers,
    Amigo

    Hi

    Broader context:

Too much receptive energy creates moodiness, lethargy, depression, disinterest, and a shutting-out of the physical world.

this "shutting-out" here looks like a noun. Can I also use it as a verb?

    How's that?
