    I have two news

    Hi,

I can quite often see/hear sentences like this:
"I have two news - good and bad".

The noun "news" is an uncountable one. Is that acceptable?

    Thank you,
    F.

You are right to think that it is unacceptable. To make the statement "countable" you might say:

"I have two items of (bits of/pieces of) news - good and bad".
