    must also-also must

    I hope you can settle an issue. Which of these is grammatically correct?

    "You must look to the left, you must also look to the right"

    or

    "You must look to the left, you also must look to the right"

    The first sounds better, but is it correct?

    Both are fine, Bob. The normal neutral placement for adverbs is between the two verbs. Putting it before 'must' makes it a bit more emphatic.

    Does the same apply to "also is" and "is also"?

    Red is a colour, green also is a colour

    Red is a colour, green is aslo a colour
