    Question "presume" vs "assume"

    Hi,
    I would like to ask what is the difference between "presume" and "assume".

    I presume you have looked these up in a dictionary. [I suppose this is probably the case].

    Or do you assume that someone will answer you? [you suppose to be the case, without proof]
