    I've noticed that the native speakers very often use the word "over". Come over here, I went over there, I'll drive over to the shop.

    Is it always possible to leave out the word "over" in many cases.
    I think I can easily say "come here" "I went there" Do they mean the same as the ones with the word "over"? I think they do!

    'over' adds a note of casualness to the activity, and softens it from being a blunt statement of fact:

    I'll drive to John's place and...
    I'll drive over to John's place and...
    I'll nip over to John's place and...
