    ''direct'', ''blunt'', etc

    ''I asked him a direct/blunt question.''

    Hi there,
Are both adjectives in this sentence possible? Do the sound natural? How would a native say it, please?
    Thanks.

I think it should be' I asked him the direct questions',. I have never heard anyone says" I asked him the blunt questions'/

    Both are usable.

To ask a blunt question implies that you feel that the person has been avoiding telling you something, and you are cross about that.

    Nice thread JC
Good to know, so, someone could ask someone else a direct question meaning that he/she is talking to that person specifically.
as for the blunt question, is used when we have to force someone to tell something he/she doesn't want to. However, a direct question can be a blunt one, can't it?
