    Unhappy how do you do

    Hi there!

I am really confused with this phrase....

Is there any difference between How do you do and Nice to meet you?

In what occasion should I use How do you do? Is it formal or informal? Is it still in use? Is it often used?

I would be really greateful if anybody could tell more information about this phrase.

Thanky you very much in advance!

    Re: how do you do

    Hi kukinecka

It's a greeting, yes, and similar to Nice to meet you and How are you? but it's formal, and somewhat out of date for the younger generation, but older generations still "might" use it.
