please, how do you say when something takes a lot of time and effort from someone?
can I say that something is ''giving'' someone a lot of work?
for example, can I say "my car is broken and fixing it is giving me a lot of work"?

I think "to struggle" would be nice in JC's examples:
Whether someone's found something hard to be done, I'd say that person is struggling to get that thing done. However, let's wait for a teacher's opinion.
