    Two Quick Questions

    My first question:

Is this sentence, "Thank you for treating Erika and myself." grammatically correct? I am questioning the use of 'myself,' which is why I bothered asking.

    My second question:

Is the sentence, "Erica, may I kiss you?" also correct?

Thank you for any help that you can give me. It is very important for your feedback.

    Thank you,
    Rendan

    Welcome to the forums.

    #1 No. Use "me".

    #2 is fine.

    Thanks a ton!

One more question: Is it "Oh, no" or "Oh no""

The sentence is: "Oh no! Since Erica is so cute, everyone is targeting her!"

In this sentence, go without the comma.

Totally incorrect since they are the object and not the subject.

Erika and I thank you for giving us this treat.
Thank you for treating Erika and me.

Not in this usage. You could use either.

One of questions I always ask myself is why 1." Erika and me thank you for giving us this treat" is accepted whereas 2."Thank you for treating Erika and I" is not? In the first sentence "me" is the subject not the object. I know that the second sentece is wrong but if we can use "me" (in the first sentense) as a subject then we should also be able to use "I" as an object (in the second sentence).
I have my own opinion but I' d love to know yours, Dear Anglika and other Teachers, please.

    Re: Two Quick Questions

There are many colloquial inaccuracies of this kind. They are common, but not technically correct.

If a person is working on a grammar exercise, then the correct form should be used. Learning colloquialisms can lead to poor marks - but of course it is essential if you are living and working with native speakers.

Thanks Anglika, I was completely wrong on that one, some kind of a brainstorm maybe! I am deleting my post so as not to confuse.
