    Re: English

    Evidence is uncountable.

    The evidence was destroyed...

    Phenomenon, phenomena

    Natural phenomena like...

NB You only need capital letters on the first word in a sentence or for proper names.

BNC is the evidence that "evidences" exist.
Dear Anglika, can you help me to figure out why "evidences" are used in the sentences below despite "evidence"is an uncountable noun?
    Examples:
It is the purpose of premises to make sense of something and the purpose of evidences to make solid sense of it.

Premises without evidences are unsupported and weak; evidences without premises are meaningless.

It is as though all the proofs and evidences of philosophy had mistaken their rationality for how people actually think.

Well, I wasn't speaking about the, the evidence today, I'm speaking about evidences that have been taken in the past, where we had even trustees before the committee.
