    Wink Is it correct?

    Hi!

    I have a question.
If a school year is divided in periods of six months they're called semesters and if the school year is divided in periods of two months, or three months or four months. How do you call each period of time?
I hope you can understand my question.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Is it correct?

    3 is tri-mester

4 periods? Maybe someone has another idea. I have heard of it as tri-mester, with an additional "summer session"

    Re: Is it correct?

    Thanks, susiedqq.
But, I still have doubts. What about the periods of two months, and four months.
I mean, here in my country the school year has 5 periods of two months and some schools work with 3 periods of four months of course we have summer vacation but we have exams after each period, that's why my question is: How do we call each period?
    Some teachers say:
period of two months= bimonthly or bimester
    But, I don't know.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.

Who knows? Sounds like this is unique to your school

Just call it a school "term" or "session"

Thanks a lot susiedqq you're really helping me. But,
    What do you mean?
Isn't there any word to say "period of two months"?
So, Can I call First Term to the first period of two months and Second Term to the second period of two months and so on?
    And,
Do the terms bimonthly and bimester exist?
Sorry, I hope not to bother you with my questions.
I really appreciate your help or the help of anybody.
    Thank you.
