    What is the difference between the two verbs; "to affirm" and "to confirm"

    "Affirm" = state something emphatically or publicly; in a court of law, make a formal declaration rather than taking an oath.

    "Confirm" = establish the truth or correctness of something; state with assurance that something is true.
