    Hi there,

Michael Jackson has sung a song called 'beat it'. What does it mean?

    Re: beat it

I think it means "Get away, get out of here right now! Get off, run away".

    Re: beat it

They Told Him Don't You Ever Come Around Here
Don't Wanna See Your Face, You Better Disappear
The Fire's In Their Eyes And Their Words Are Really Clear
So Beat It, Just Beat It

red : stay away from here...don't want to see your face around here

green: if the person is being told to disappear, then he must have 'appeared', that is, he has come round to the person's place...

so beat it : slang for 'leave right now and quickly', but the sense 'because we don't want you here'; 'clear off', 'get out of here'
