    what does receptance means ?

    Hello dear teachers
I checked all dictionaries I have ( both electronic and books ) unfortunately I didn't find the meaning of this word .. Can any1 please help me and see what does it mean
the word is in this text

It is called the track receptance or dynamic flexibility. Track receptance can be measured only under the influence of dynamic forces. The receptance Is a complex mathematical quantity which is often represented by amplitude or phase characteristic. The advantage of receptance representation is the fact that a place of resonance affects an effective oscillating force in the form of very large amplitudes. An example of a static measurement of vertical track stiffness and receptance is shown in figure 9.

Re: what does receptance means ?

This is a technical term in structural engineering. All I can find (and grasp!) is that it is the amount of displacement per unit of force applied. This is used to determine how much a building or some structure will vibrate and move, as in an earthquake.
Unless we have a structural engineering student as a member of this forum, I'm not sure how much help any of us can be on this one.
