    Want a definition

I have a problem getting a good definition of the exprssion "to beat someone at their own game", it came in my tests and I gave the answer "to beat someone at something they're good at' , I need confirmation if the answer is correct or incorrect, with a definition please?

To beat someone at their own game = to better them, to outdo them.

I am really pleased with myself. I managed to land a really valuable contract yesterday, worth all of $120,000,000. I've beaten Richard Branson at his own game!

    You gave the correct answer.

I am a good chess player. Sometimes, (rarely), my girl-friend beats me. She has beaten me at my own game.

It can also be said in a non-game context. If one supermarket chain habitually undercuts the others (in terms of price), they might be beaten at their own game if a competitor succeeds in undercutting their own prices.
