    beat, defeated

    "team 'a' was beaten/defeated by team 'b'."

    hi,
    is there any other verb that could be informally used in this sentence, please?

    Hello JC,

    1. Team A lost to Team B (normal usage)
    2. ...was hammered by... (if the defeat was heavy)
    3. ...was thrashed by... (ditto)
