    A poor journalist

    Hi, teachers.
Pls help to correct the mistakes in the following essay. Thanks

Editors of newspaper and magazine always go to extremes to provide their readers with unimportant facts and statistics. For this, a journalist was instructed to count the steps leading to the president's palace of one new republic and the height of the high wall.
The journalist at once set out to obtain the important facts. Having finished counting steps, the journalist tried to measure the height of the high wall. Suddenly he was stopped and arrested by two policemen. Though the journalists explained that he was just need the exact value for a report, the policemen refused to believe it.
At last, the poor journalist was sent to prison as a spy.
