    Keep silence /silent

    Hello forum,

The happy girl we had been with was actually not as optimistic as we thought. She kept ____ until she couldn’t hold it in anymore . <She was diagnosed with a terrible cancer in her right breast >
    Astill
    Bsilence
    Ccalm
    Dsilent

My choice will go to D, but I'm racking my brains between B and D.

Of B and D, which one is correct (or better)?

    Thank you in advance.
