    Screwball

    Hello,

What is the meaning of ''screwball'' in the following sentence:

I didn't want to look like a screwball or something. Which is really ironic. I didn't know then that the goddam hotel was full of perverts and morons. Screwballs all over the place.

    A pervert, a crazy person?

Yes, or an idiot, a person with wild and crazy ideas. You can get the sense of 'screwball' from the way it follows 'perverts and morons' in the piece.
