    What on earth are you doing here?

    Hi Experts.
    once i heard the above sentence in a movie, So i want to know what it mean and is it offensive , formal or informal, polite or impolite?

    It is a perfectly normal and acceptable expression of surprise that you are seeing someone where you do not expect to see them.

    Informal rather than formal, and completely inoffensive.
