"The frog in the well..."= English proverb?

The frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean
Hi! I am wondering whether the sentence I quote is a genuine English proverb or not. There is a Chinese saying which matches it quite well. I doubt it might be translated from Chinese. Thanks!

PS. It is not necessary to interpret the sentence for me because I knew the meaning of it.
