    Question notched axe

    Hello, teachers.

I am wondering what "a nothced axe" looks like...
Is it jagged along the edge like a saw?
or it got worn out and chipped off along the edge over time?

    Please help me!

    Re: notched axe

I am not a teacher, but I think an axe is notched simply when its edge does not look completely smooth and even. I mean, one chip is enough to say it's notched.
If the axe was "jagged along the edge like a saw", then I would say it is badly notched.

I see...so when the axe has even one chip, you can say it is notched.

    Thanks!
