    clear! - Cardio arrest

I wonder what do they mean when doctors say "Clear!" in electric shock in Cardio arrest cases(ICU)?

The doctor is about to pass a brief burst of electric current through the patient's heart. He is telling those assisting not to be touching any part of the patient's body or bed, since they could receive an electric shock.

There's an implied verb - '[Stand] clear' or '[Make sure that you are standing] clear'. It's similar in that respect to the cry of 'help' (which I feel is not the verb 'Help [me]', but an abbreviation of '[I need] help' or '[Give me] help').
