Which of these 2 sentences is correct?

    Hi,
Please check which of these two sentences sounds more natural:

    1. He would have come if he hadn't had a flat tyre
    2. He would have come if the flat tyre hadn't happened

    Many thanks

Neither is quite right. I would say: "He would have come if his car had not had a flat tyre".

I am not a Teacher, but sentence #1 sounds more natural to me. L.Hinnant
