    English = Britons?

    Hi,

    We are discussing an English sentence. Some Chinese guys translate "English" into "Britons" but I don't agree.
    It is not easy to describe this spring. We English do not run to lyricism.
    I think "English" refers to "people of England" rather than all Britons.

    English = Britons, Britons =/= English

    Am I right?

    Yes, you are.
    The English=the people of England.
    The Britons=the people of Great Britain.
