    Re: that so

As in, is that so? If yes, then is that so is another way of saying, is that the case/true? Elliptical That so?
as a term of dismissal is attested from 1886 (short for is that so?)

    so3 [səu] adverb

(used in place of a word, phrase etc previously used, or something previously stated) as already indicated

    Example: `Are you really leaving your job?' `Yes, I've already told you / said so'; `Is she arriving tomorrow?' `Yes, I hope so'; If you haven't read the notice, please do so now; `Is that so (= true)?' `Yes, it's really so';

    so - Definitions from Dictionary.com

Since I haven't understood completely I need more explanations.

    For example

Two friends run into (each other) in a street and one say

I saw good quality TV sets in the shop down the corner.

    That so

    Does it mean

    That so.
    or That so?

    Does it mean

    Ok. or

    Really? or

Oh, yeah, I saw them as well. or

Yeah, but I'm not interested in. or

    Is it truth actually?

    etc..

or the meaning depends on the way of stressing the words That so?

I really need more explanations about.

    Also now please explain

    As in

    too.

No matter its meaning, its form is constant, you'll agree: pronoun + adverb.
