    none more than

Of those left behind, none more than he knew the awesome dangers implicit in the recall signal from G9. none more than= only?

All were somewhat fuddled with drink but none more than the Mayor and his party. none more than=not?

Do I understand the above two sentences in the right way?
    Thank you very much.

None more than he knew the awesome dangers etc means that nobody knew more than he knew about the awesome dangers (ie he knew more than anybody else did about the awesome dangers).

None more than the Mayor etc means nobody was more fuddled with drink than the mayor was (ie the mayor was more fuddled with drink than anybody else was)
